Aliyah, Immigration & Citizenship
Thank you for making yesterday’s program a success. Each of you have given so much to the olim – I received positive feedback and think the olim / internationals learned so much from your experiences and your tips. This was an excellent training program for them. Thank you for giving them something so precious, your expertise and your time.
I have just very good things to say about Tzvi and his work! I am in Israel for 3 years and he already saved me of a lot of trouble… Moving to a new country is a hard challenge and we meet people on the way that make our dream to live in Israel more possible. Tzvi is one of them, with any doubt. Always with a good humor, he helped me at least 4 different times, when I was having problems in Israel: to sue an insurance company after a car accident, to keep my job after a Gyius letter, to sue a Cellular company, to make my rights of buyer being taken seriously by a Jewelry Store… Doesn’t matter how nervous or worried I was, he helped me to understand that everything would be OK (even if the things wouldn’t work out). Tzvi: you make all the difference in my life in Israel! Thank you! Again and again!
I recommend Voleh as Outstanding Volunteers. Attorney Tzvi Szajnbrum’ s guidance and hand-holding throughout our past three years of our assimilation has been priceless! He has helped us with rental contracts, landlord disputes, employment contracts, advice during and after employment termination, letters and phone calls to get us our severance pay and unemployment benefits – and just last week my wife called him from Cellcom where she was being abused by their “policies” for almost 4 hours and Tzvi resolved the situation in less than 5 minutes on the phone! Voleh’s services have been given to us free of charge – an incredible gift. I wonder how other people survive Aliyah without such guardian angels to watch over and protect them. Voleh has added new meaning to the concept that in Israel we are all mishpacha! We have no blood relatives in Israel, but we have found that we have family at Voleh.
I am very grateful for the fast and professional help that our family received from VOLEH and my most sincere thanks go to Mr. Szajnbrum. In our first steps as new olim chadashim, his help was priceless and very generous! He responded to our request immediately and straight to the point! Thank you!
I made Aliyah several years ago but had to leave Israel suddenly due to unforeseen circumstances. I contacted VOLEH to check on the status of several things. Tzvi was prompt, professional, courteous, and kind. Within a week I found out everything I needed to know. Baruch HaShem VOLEH was able to help me. I feel so lucky to have found this wonderful organization. Many thanks.
Civil Law & Litigation
When circumstances left us without money, Tzvi was someone who immediately helped when we received threats of physical violence from our landlord for owing them rent. I’m very grateful to him for all his effort, time and help.
Tzvi answered our questions almost immediately. He didn’t sugar coat the answers and gave us clear advice. Thank you Tzvi
Thank you Tzvi for your very fast, very thorough answer to my legal question. It was exactly the information that i needed. Your service is a very great benefit to the English Oleh community. Thank you very much
Tsvi is an example of what more lawyers should be: accessible; communicative; informative. As Olim we are all faced with situations which are unfamiliar to us and which can be life-altering, in other words, a crisis. It is great to know that Voleh is there for us, we can get knowledgeable advice just by writing an email! Thank you for your guidance and counsel!
We are so grateful for the wisdom and “no nonsense” attitude we received at Voleh. We needed a quick resolution, we needed sound advice and we needed to feel we were in capable hands…and we got all of that! What you do is truly a gift to new olim and you should be blessed to continue to help others!
I had a problem with a recent subscription to a professional listing in the online marketing directory of my phone company. I had consented during an unsolicited high pressured marketing phone call from them. Soon after the call I reconsidered and vainly tried to get them to cancel it. Their representatives chattered on about a binding one year contract that was un-calleable. When I started to receive astronomical phone bills I realized that I had not been given full disclosure of all the regular monthly billing charges involved with this service, necessary for an informed consent from me. Repeated calls to my server requesting cancellation were met with obstinate refusal. I did not know where to turn to until an AACI counselor recommended Voleh. I contacted Tzvi and within a few weeks I received a call from the server agreeing to cancel the service as a result of the intervention of a lawyer – a reference to Tzvi. I feel that Voleh is a valuable service available to new immigrants who are vulnerable to questionable business practices in Israel.

I want to thank Tzvi for his patience and help with my issues with Pelephone. The lawyers from Pelephone asked me to pay my debts in only one payment. It was impossible to pay it in this way. So I contacted Tzvi to help me with this situation. After a long and stressful arguing with them, Tzvi finally got a very good agreement. I really appreciated what you did. This is a very important help to all Olim, most of the time, when we see ourselves in this kind of situations we really don’t know what to do. Once again thank you very much for all.
Tzvi Szajnbrum was extremely helpful in guiding me through going to court against Pelephone. I was almost resigned to just continuing to let them cheat me when I heard about Voleh. I met with Tzvi who wrote up a complaint form for me and guided me in all of the steps for going to small claims court. Thank you for all of your assistance! Very much appreciated.
Thanks Tzvi for making a hard decision a little bit easier. I feel better about my decision now that I talked to you.
Voleh was amazingly helpful to me. Their first contact was almost immediate and straight to the point. Clear and concise explanation was provided, with attention to translating the law and it’s details so I could properly understand it. I am very happy with the assistance and will seek their services in the future if necessary. Fully recommended.
Criminal Law
Words cannot express how relieved and grateful we are. This has been such a huge burden on us for over a year. We finally feel like we can move on. We were so surprised by the favorable verdict. I was fully expecting that I would need to do community service hours. And to tell you the truth, I had no idea how I would fit that into our lives. Thank God that the prosecution and the judge (and other forces that be) understood that we are just simple people trying to raise our family. We made a mistake but we shouldn't have to be penalized to the point that it affects our ability to raise our family. We are good and honest people that work hard for what little we do have. We love each other very much and all we want is to live our lives together with our family. Josh and I have been together for more than half our lives and we have been through a lot together. We will add this court case to our list of hurdles that we overcame. Thank you again for all your hard work. With much gratitude
I am very grateful to Tzvi for explaining what I needed to know about the legal system. I was considering requesting to re-open a case I’d filed, and he patiently and thoroughly explained to me what would happen if I made the request, and if it was accepted, as well as the pros and cons of doing so. I was able to make my decision with a thorough understanding of the entire process and all its ramifications. Thank you so, so much for your patience and the clarity you provided.
Education, Professional Licensing & Business Law
Tzvi, What can I say? I told you today that I wished you were an uncle, I’d be very lucky to have you in our family. I am an oleh chadash who has had many problems setting up and doing business in this country, from the language to certain unscrupulous people, Tzvi puts you at ease, explains the stuff you need to know, even if you did wrong, and helps you out honestly, without prejudice and advises how to avoid the same mess next time. A real lifesaver on many occasions! Tzvi you are brilliant lawyer / mentor / adviser… a credit to Israel – thank you.
I am only a few weeks away from making aliyah from California and was referred to Tzvi Szajnbrum to help in transferring my license as a dental hygienist here in the USA so that I can teach and practice in Israel when I arrive. He responded quickly to my initial e-mail and has suggested that as soon as I arrive that we go together to the Ministry of Health’s office. Although I still don’t know the end result, Mr. Szajnbrum has given me the encouragement I needed at this time in my aliyah process to know that I have someone who is extremely qualified and willing to help an olah chadashah. What a blessing to have been connected to someone of his caliber who is willing to help me navigate the Israeli system so that I can quickly become a vital part of Israeli society! Todah rabbah Tzvi and your wonderful organization, Voleh! Can’t wait to personally meet you and go together to the Ministry of Health office!
I had occasion to turn to Tzvi for professional assistance when needing to re-new my Occupational Therapy license with the Ministry of Health here in Israel. The process was proving to be time consuming and complicated. Tzvi Szajnbrum intervened as a professional kindness that he offers to Olim. His assistance was invaluable, ending in the joy of receiving my new license right in Jerusalem, enabling me to meet Tzvi in person. I would certainly recommend any Olim to turn to Tzvi for any legal assistance. Tzvi, knows the process and can shorten and ease most difficulties Olim come up against, he is prompt in returning an email or phone call and a pleasure to work with.
Excellent service. My request was answered in 24 hrs. I would definitely recommend his Services. Thanks for all
Employment Law (Contracts, Disputes, Severance, etc.)

I have relied upon Voleh.org and Tzvi twice now to help me with legal issues, and have been so impressed with Tzvi’ s prompt responses and commitment to helping olim chadashim navigate the legalities of their new lives in Israel. The first was a landlord – tenant issue. Tzvi called back within hours of my email query, on his way out of a restaurant in the evening, and continued to correspond with me and speak with me on the phone while I sorted out my landlord problem over the next few days. The second time I contacted Tzvi was just a few hours ago, with an Israeli labor law question. Once again, Tzvi responded to me within a few hours with the text of the relevant Israeli law, succinct answers, and an invitation to call him with any additional questions. I am so grateful for Tzvi’ s prompt — and FREE -legal advice, and I highly recommend Voleh.org and Tzvi for anyone who needs help with legal or administrative issues in Israel. He and his organization are providing a tremendous service to olim chadashim! Kol hakavod, and THANK YOU!
Tzvi Szajnbrum is not just a lawyer – he cares! He gave solid professional advice but also empathized with my situation. It’s a blessing to know we as Olim, have Tzvi. Thank you!!! Warm regards and kol tov
Tzvi helped me to get the payslips my ex employer didn't want to give me. Thank you for your help!

What’s amazing about Tzvi is his ability to make one completely confident in what he says, I listened and followed his words, and will now be able to close this chapter in my life. Tzvi, you are a good man, and I am sure you receive many thanks daily, but one more heart felt from me and my family can’t hurt, so thank you, truly.
I was able to obtain the information that was needed to address my needs. They are an excellent firm.
Tzvi and Ronen were prompt and concise, professional and direct, in reply to a ‘cold’ call and message about an important matter of family law needing clarification. I was truly, pleasantly surprised by the speed of their responsive, and even more so by their willingness to help without mentioning – in fact while refusing – a fee. Thank you again and I look forward to being in touch further – and I can highly recommend them!
Tzvi, – Thank you so much for your quick and sincere help! Too bad you can’t help me find a new apartment as quick as your e-mails and phone calls :). Will definitely pass your name to Americans and Israelis alike! Thanks for the quick letter, sending it out for me, and caring for our health and well-being!
I am always grateful for Tzvi’s advice. His willingness to help Olim is wonderful.
Finances (Banking, Debts & Bankruptcy)
Tzvi, What can I say? I told you today that I wished you were an uncle, I’d be very lucky to have you in our family. A real lifesaver on many occasions! Tzvi you are brilliant lawyer / mentor / adviser… a credit to Israel – thank you.
Tzvi, thank you so much for being there for me when I was desperate for your support. Not only for your excellent knowledge of law, but also for your stress management, words cannot describe my gratitude to you.
My experience of having a debt in Israel has been very serious and I had made a big mistake by ignoring the situation. Debts with banks and companies will never just ‘go-away’. Face the situation immediately and know that there are professionals out there to help. The Voleh organisation has been a lifeline for me for legal advice and to help me negotiate a settlement to reduce my debts here in Israel. This has taken some time, but has enabled me to finally pay and exit the country. Most new Olim to Israel will struggle with debt, don’t be ashamed that this has happened, you’re not alone and seek immediate professional advice.
Thank you so much for your help! Thanks to your free legal services (who ever heard of such a thing?!), I will be able to rid myself of an issue that has been affecting my finances for years and start over fresh here in Israel. I would highly recommend you and your services to any oleh with legal issues or questions. Organizations like yours make it possible for olim to build their lives here!
I want to thank Tzvi for his patience and help with my issues with Pelephone. The lawyers from Pelephone asked me to pay my debts in only one payment. It was impossible to pay it in this way. I am an Olah currently getting my first degree. after taking a loan from an Israeli bank and missing partial amounts of only two payments I was sued by the bank and treated like a criminal (instead of a struggling Olah student- which is what I am) . I was under a lot of stress and couldn’t afford a lawyer to help me sort out the problem. Luckily someone referred me to Tzvi and he immediately made time in his busy schedule and met me the very same day. Not only did he give me legal advice, but he also tried lifting my spirits by offering a more positive perspective on viewing my problems. He worked on the case at very late hours of the night while he could’ve been asleep in order to gets things done quickly. if that wasn’t enough, he even came into his office while he was supposed to be on vacation to help me with something urgent. Tzvi surpassed way beyond my expectations for service provided by a lawyer working free of charge. I am very grateful for his time and passion for helping Olim! I would strongly recommend his services to anyone in need. Thank you ?
My son accumulated debts for a phone contract that he thought he closed upon leaving Israel for a year after IDF service and for national health insurance that kept billing him in spite of the fact that he was in the US. To make a long story short, he returned to Israel to study and upon his visit home between semesters, he was stopped at the airport, detained and needed to pay the large sum before allowed to leave the country. He was treated as a criminal when in fact he never received any notice of payment due until after his visit home. In order to ensure that such treatment won’t happen again Tzvi directed my son to the right offices to have cases against my son closed. We are so appreciative to Tzvi ‘s help and so relieved to know that there is someone out there who looks out for Olim and understands that navigating through Israeli non-consumer friendly (to be polite) ways is discouraging to say the least. Thank you Tzvi! I think that your service is desperately needed and so grateful by many as ourselves.
Healthcare or Personal Injury

Tzvi Szajnbrum was ever so helpful! – – After being released from the army close to 6 months ago, I received a hospital bill in the mail that the IDF claimed they had already paid. Apparently, they hadn’t, and I was stuck with a huge bill that was the IDF’s responsibility to pay. After multiple attempts at contacting the Unit of Health in the IDF without success I was put in touch with Tzvi Szajnbrum. Tzvi set up an appointment immediately after speaking with him on the phone. He assessed the situation and took care of everything the same day! Within 12 hours of our appointment I was faxed all the relevant forms from the IDF stating that they had been contacted by Tzvi, and would be paying the bill immediately. Tzvi is very friendly, professional, and provided me with the most efficient service that I have seen so far in Israel!
Military Service
I contacted Tzvi looking for information about requirements for new immigrants medical doctors to serve in the army. I got a very fast and detailed answer which helped me a lot in making my decisions. Thank you!!!
Thanks Tzvi, – For the past two years, Tzvi Szajnbrum has helped our son fight for a decent job in the IDF. We first contacted Tzvi when the army sent our bright, highly motivated son to a training base for dropouts and delinquents (they misunderstood his US high school credentials) and again some months later when they “sentenced” him to a dead-end job in logistics. Thanks to Tzvi's persistence and professional help, our son is now working in a great army job helping IDF volunteers that puts his talents, energy and creativity to much better use. Many thanks, from the Truitt family, aliyah 2004.
Expert help with IDF issue – Our deepest thanks to Tzvi for volunteering to help with our son’s complicated problems with the IDF. As olim facing a bewildering and well entrenched system that seemed determined to railroad our son into a dead-end job in the army because of misunderstandings over his education and medical profiles. Tzvi was able to get to the decision makers quickly and get his situation looked at again. While our requests through “channels” and the public complaints office went nowhere fast, Tzvi’ s efforts were able to get action. There are not enough words to thank him or Voleh for taking up our cause – pro bono, and with great professionalism.
Real Estate (Rentals, Lease, Purchase, etc.)
Thank you very much to Tzvi who worked on my behalf to recover compensation on a disgusting holiday rental apartment which we had paid for upfront and felt so cheated by the owners, due to the appalling state of the flat, well below any standards. He really made a difference by winning our case. Once I was given Tzvi’s contact details, he took on my case, maintained regular contact and helped me get it all sorted out, which has been a huge relief. I really appreciate his time, effort and efficiency. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with him. What a mensch he is! Thank you Tzvi for all your expert advice and help.
Tzvi reviewed my case very quickly and had an answer for me within hours! I really appreciate his candidness.
What a mensch! Tzvi responded to my email, asked for my rental contract, phoned me after checking it and told me exactly where I stood legally – and all within a few hours. I have just spent a year going through the courts for another issue and had completely lost all faith in lawyers, Tzvi has restored it – if there are lawyers like him out there and now I know where to find him, I’m reassured that any future legal issues will be competently taken care of. Thank you very much Tzvi, I can move my family now without fear of being sued for breach of contract. You should only meet people like you if you ever need help in your own life. ?
Thank you Tzvi for all of your help. Our daughter, Ruth, was renting an apartment from a landlord who insisted that our payment had to be a cash deposit into the landlord’s bank account. When the Israeli bank delayed cashing a check, causing the rent payment to be days late, the landlord threatened to evict our daughter on the spot, without court process. Our 19-year-old daughter was forced to attend classes carrying her worldly possessions out of fear that she would be locked out of her apartment. Tzvi’ s efforts stopped the lockout threats and enabled a negotiated resolution for the problem. Tzvi also did a good job in calming down our distraught daughter from whom we are literally half a world away. Thank you for everything you did and all that Voleh does.
We want to thank you so much for your help reviewing our lease and helping us rewrite the Hebrew to eliminate the onerous terms they were asking. You responded quickly and effectively. - We would certainly recommend you and your services to anyone!
When circumstances left us without money, Tzvi was someone who immediately helped when we received threats of physical violence from our landlord for owing them rent. I’m very grateful to him for all his effort, time and help.
I was amazed by the quick and insightful attention that Tzvi gave me regarding my rental situation and also the way he explained issues related to Power of Attorney with me over the phone. I called from Los Angeles. I thought I was just contacting a normal law office and hoped maybe somebody would answer a question. Immediately I realized I had reached a uniquely gifted and helpful attorney. Tzvi explained a number of concepts very quickly and effectively and he also reviewed a legal document for me to my great surprise the same night that I sent it. I was not expecting anything like this, and I can only imagine how much critical help he must offer to others every day and every week. He gave me the sense he knows very much what he is talking about and showed warmth, humor, and conscientiousness in my brief interaction with him. Toda!!!

We were threatened to be sued by our landlord and had no idea what to do. I came across Voleh’s site via Google, and I’m so glad I did. Tzvi called me within the hour after I emailed him with my question of how I should proceed. He gave me excellent advice that calmed me down and gave me a plan. Thank you Tzvi, and all the other volunteers for all your great work helping olim!
I was sued by a past landlord from 3 years ago. Tzvi did a great job in helping me understand everything and preparing the paperwork. He was very professional in court and presented the truth. I would highly recommend contacting him BEFORE signing any rental contract and ask questions to prevent any future problems.
We had some disagreements with our landlord and Voleh helped us to know what we are actually entitled to and empowered us to receive just that. They also spoke with our landlord themselves. Mr. Szajnbrum took the time to explain the situation thoroughly, clearly and professionally. I encourage anyone who needs legal assistance, an advocate or advice to contact Voleh. Such a kind & necessary service to provide!
B”H This organization is a great resource for Olim and if you don’t have the Hebrew, you have protexia through Voleh :-). We purchased an apartment and the renter decided to give us a hard time about paying the rent. Tzvi helped us to understand what our rights are and gave solicited advice on how to proceed. He also was patient with my questions about the actual wording of the contract. I don’t know how they do this for free but if points in Shamayim are counted, they are helping some of the most vulnerable people that are trying to have a successful Aliyah. Thank you Voleh for providing a much needed service and unfortunately, I will probably have to be in touch again.
I am very grateful for the fast and professional help that our family received from VOLEH and my most sincere thanks go to Mr. Szajnbrum. In our first steps as new olim chadashim, his help was priceless and very generous! He responded to our request immediately and straight to the point! Thank you!

Very quick and honest response.
I want to take the opportunity to recommend this organizations wonderful work. I have communicated with them on several occasions via email and have read a multitude or articles posted on their website – ALL FREE. – – These articles have been very helpful and were written for the layman in the most pragmatic of terms. In other words, devoid of legalese and written with the most practical examples and advise. I can tell you that it is not as simple as it may sound. – – Things are done a lot differently in Israel to say the least. The greatest fear a person can have is a fear of the unknown. When you come to a new country with a new language, culture, set of laws and methodology of operating, the task can be daunting at best. – – May they continue their wonderful work.
Without a single doubt I recommend Tzvi (Henrique) Szajnbrum to not just my closest friends but to my family as well. When I am Prime Minister he will continue to be my personal Attorney. Never have I met someone with such passion for truth and justice, someone so keen to detail and gets the job done seemingly effortless and precisely. Szajnbrum is a man of dedication and true to his word. He cares for the community and helping others. He too was an immigrant and understands the constant battle of the bureaucracy one must face each day starting over in a new country.
Our family had a legal problem that needed to be dealt with urgently. We had no idea what to do, and did not know an attorney to whom we could call for help. Thankfully someone suggested we call to Mr. Szajnbrum. Immediately understanding the extent of our problem, he not only took the time to take our call right away, he also helped us deal with the situation the same day. Knowing how busy he is, and all the other people that he and his organization need to help, we were amazed that he was so kind and agreed to help us right away with this emergency situation. He is a true mensch, and a real professional. I strongly recommend anyone in need of an attorney to contact him.
Dear Tzvi Szajnbrum, – I hardly can find the right words to express my deepest gratitude to – you, for your support. – Your diligence, and your determination to help people has no price. – You’re a “Mensch”, and I’m proud to count you as a loyal friend. – May G-d bless you, and your family.
WOW! What an amazing thing you are doing for us olim chadashim. You are an inspiration and it is amazing to know you are there for us, helping us. You have given me a real sense of security, knowing that, should it ever come to it, I have you on my side and now it doesn’t seem so bad that I have no family in Israel to turn to for a way out of the “deep sh1t.” – I really can’t thank you enough, although I obviously wish I never have to speak to you again ? – I will be telling everyone how wonderful you are ?
Tzvi is like your smarter older brother. He tells you like it is, is not shy about letting you know how you screwed up…but in the end, he is on your side 150%…like an older brother.
