I had a problem with a recent subscription to a professional listing in the online marketing directory of my phone company. I had consented during an unsolicited high pressured marketing phone call from them.
Soon after the call I reconsidered and vainly tried to get them to cancel it. Their representatives chattered on about a binding one year contract that was un-calleable. When I started to receive astronomical phone bills I realized that I had not been given full disclosure of all the regular monthly billing charges involved with this service, necessary for an informed consent from me.
Repeated calls to my server requesting cancellation were met with obstinate refusal. I did not know where to turn to until an AACI counselor recommended Voleh. I contacted Tzvi and within a few weeks I received a call from the server agreeing to cancel the service as a result of the intervention of a lawyer – a reference to Tzvi.
I feel that Voleh is a valuable service available to new immigrants who are vulnerable to questionable business practices in Israel.
