Take it easy! It’s not personal
Have you ever met a person with PPD?
“Paranoid personality disorder (PPD) is one of a group of conditions called eccentric personality disorders. People with PPD suffer from paranoia, an unrelenting mistrust and suspicion of others, even when there is no reason to be suspicious”
“For PPD, psychotherapy is the treatment of choice. Treatment likely will focus on increasing general coping skills, especially trust and empathy, as well as on improving social interaction, communication, and self-esteem”
Being a lawyer for more than two decades, I personally think that clients with PPD are the most challenging type to work with.

The more you give to your client, the more disappointed you become. The PPD client shows no gratitude because they truly believe everyone, including the representative they chose themselves, is not on their side but rather the opposite, that the representative is undermining the case.

If you are dealing with a person who has this disorder, I suggest you try your best to sympathize with them, to show empathy and swallow your pride because it’s not about you!
